Maqhilika Timber is owned and operated by Protus Sokhela. He started the company in 2001 and has developed Maqhilika Timbers into a world renowned timber pole treatment company.

The Sokhela family are a respected and established family in Kwa-Zulu Natal. With extensive experience and investments in the agricultural sectors of timber and sugarcane. The Sokhela family have secured long term access to wooden pole raw material from their internal timber plantations.

Protus Sokhela has recently acquired an electrical transformer manufacturing company based in Germiston.
